Vancity Credit Union 2007

Vancity is Canada’s largest credit union, Formed in 1945, today they have $10.5 billion in assets, more than 315,000 members and over 40 branches throughout Greater Vancouver, The Fraser Valley and Victoria.

Wise Buddha has been working with Vancity since 2003 advising on all aspects of connecting with the elusive under 25 market. This year I developed a comprehensive strategy that for the first time focused on bundling services and offering a unique product proposition for young people.

Underpinning planning as ever was powerful insight about the target and category. Young people are interested in credit and Vancity should facilitate that in a responsible manner.

By bundling Vancity Enviro Visa with the innovative free chequing account we launched a couple of years ago for all under 25’s and being pragmatic about approvals, Vancity now has a powerful product proposition.

The next stage is to take this to market and execute it effectively over the next couple of years. In 2007 Vancity are once again sponsoring The Beat Sticker Search a deal brokered by Wise Buddha in 2005. In addition, we have put in place a raft of street team driven initiatives and sales generation opportunities.
