Skype is still a winner

We’ve been using Skype for nearly 3 years, what was once a quirky free way to speak to our mates back in Blighty has evolved into a very credible alternative to a traditional phone service - almost! We are waiting for Skype to offer regular local numbers like they do in the US, UK etc. which we hope will happen shortly. In the meantime we use Skype everyday with great results and recently paid $30 for a year to make unlimited calls in North America to any regular land-line or cell number - which is a great deal.

The only down side has been the need to sit there using a headset, not anymore, we are chuffed with the new VTECH Skype phone we picked up from Future Shop for $100.Now we make regular calls telephone style to all our contacts in the US and Canada plus it tells us when our Skype contacts are on line around the world and allows you to switch between the two services. It’s a piece of tech that just works and is highly recommended.

Once Skype announce local numbers there really is no need to pay regular telephone prices any longer.
