UK TV Company creates social networking site….by accident!

It seems you can’t even try and make a TV program these days without the wannabe contestants turning the audition site into a fully fledged social networking experience.
European TV Production company RDF Media have found themselves in the curious position of creating an internet presence in the most unlikely way. It created a website Islandoo.com so people could audition to take part in the new series of Shipwrecked a reality TV Show (no prize for guessing what its about!), it had no idea that months later the site would have become a fully fledged social networking site with 18,000 profiles and 10m page views.
Apparently RDF is going to export it to the US.
Seems you don’t need a business plan and some VC’s to pick your pocket in order set up shop.
